I have naturally really curly hair. I am getting sick of doing the same things with it all the time ( ponytail, down, or in a bun )

- Half up with a clip or hair tie. I also like putting half up in a bun with bobby pins. (They tend to not get caught on my hair.) I also love these:

- Side parted hair with the front section clipped to the side. I like to use little jaw clips, but bobby pins will work if your hair isn't too thick.

- Flipped through pony tail. Put your hair in a loose pony tail. Reach up under the pony tail and separate the hair there into two sections. Use your other hand to twist the tail and then pull it through from the bottom.

- French ponytail. Put the top section of your hair (above ears) into a ponytail. Next, put the middle into a pony. Then put the bottom into a pony. This looks less kiddy if you do it looser with pretty clips.

Ok I have thick, brown curly hair. It is realy unmanagable! If I brush it it poofs up and I have to wait for it to calm down again. I want something I can do with my hair to make it look good.(besides putting it in a pony tail, which I do every day!)

but realy, i know how you feel. i never brush my hair cuz if i do, it poofs out about 8 inches every way.(and im not exagerateing...and i didnt spell that right)

i keep it in a pony tail everyday, and i dont have the time to streighten it...

I have curly hair and I don't really recommend straighting it, it burns your hair and messes up with your curls so they wont curl the same way. Don't perm it. it makes it dry and you will still have to straighten it if your hair is really curly. Herbal essences has a curlying cream that really works for em and Gernier Fructis has a soft curl cream that when applied and worked makes my curls frizz free. i just add a little mouse to keep my curls in place and it takes me about 10 minutes every morning. it is a lot of prodcut though, so i have to wash it almost everyday, so i wouldn't recommend it if you have a tendency to a dry scalp.

Try a curly hair shampoo and conditioner and comb your hair and arrange it while the conditioner is still on, so the curls are ready to go once you rinse your hair. then just apply a little mouse and it should stay in place and while look like a million bucks, and you don't have to wash your hair every day.

If you put it in a bun it helps you to keep your hair curlier, plus i think it looks more stylish.

Get anti-frizz stuff put on your hair when it's really wet. Never use a brush on your hair...a pick or a wide tooth comb will do for the tangles....then use your fingers to style it. Shoulder length or longer is best. to short and you will look like a dust mop.
i have the same problem, i usually try to get a perm which allows you to be able to manage your hair better,.

Use a curl cream or mousse and leave your hair down. Brush your hair only just before and after showering that way you avoid the frizzies. If your hair tends to get in your eyes, wear a cute headband to go along with your curly down-do
I have hair just like yours and sometimes I put it into a half pony tail with some of the curly hair down, it looks really cute and not a big and puffy as it is when it is all down. I also put it is loose messy buns. that works really good too

New Hair Style for Curly Hair with Bangs?

I have had the same hiair style for years and I'm sick of it! I have thick poofy wavy hair, which I wear a few inches below the shoulder, with a lot of layers cut in. The problem is that I have a huge forehead, and a really far back hair line, so I have to have bangs. I have longer bangs which I angle down to blend with my layers, and I straighten them in the morning. My hair naturally parts down the middle.

i think if you have a bigger forehead, you should deff have bangs and i think that it would loook amazin, you could also get a hairdresser to fix your part to the side so you have side bangs and get them to make your hair thinner. its helpful trust me. my hair use to be SUPER thick and now that she made it thinner its alot better, i can do anything with it and it loooks healthyer.

LOL my sisters (twins) have the same hair style as u. they mostley straighten their hair almost every week, then they could do whatever with it, when they dont have it straight, they just put it in a bun but they dont have bangs

Whats wrong with just letting it be natural? You may just need to let it grow longer to look good! My husband used to look like a lion, with all of his long curls and beard! He is a hottie! He used to spend so long trying to straighten it and comb it down and it just looked fuzzy. Finally a hairdresser talked him into letting it grow longer and poof, looked great! I have thick curly, blond hair. I use a leave in conditioner, and I use gel, no mousse, it's not very manageable. And I finish with a spray gel or a mist hair spray....As for an up-do....I would do a french twist with a few curls, and use a smoothing balm for shine and smoothness of course.

I have long curly hair too, and decided to test out the side bangs vs. middle bang.... I went for middle bangs first, and they were SUPER cute at first, but after a while when I straightened them it was annoying because they wouldn't lay flat, they would poof out, no matter what angle I tried with my straightener. So the curls tend to make it poof a bit, so you have to use a product when straightening (I used a straightening gel by StraightSexyHair). Where side bangs are a lot more tameable I thought for my hair. I love them a lot and have kept them. Garnier Fructis Curl Construct Mousse is great. Scrunch it into your hair and blow dry with a diffuser. If you want to be able to have your hair in the morning without doing much to it, then start at night- put the Garnier Fructis Curl Construct Mousse in your hair, and then put in the foam rollers. In the morning, take out the rollers and put in some hairspray. I usually wear my curly hair down. But if you're looking for a change, pull a small amount of hair back and bobby pin it. 1. Take up the top part of your hair and put it in a pony tail


2. Open the center of the ponytail and flip the hair up through the opening

okay i also have curly hair and i hate it when my hair gets hard, but i use sunsilk captative curls and it doesnt do it at all. they have a cream and a mouse i have used both and it keeps your hair shiny and smooth (not rough) and stays in place as well

I have curly (spirally) reddish/strawberry blonde hair. Right now, it is just above the shoulders and layered. I am tired of this hair style!! I don't really know what else I can do with my length. Alright, so I used to straighten my hair a lot, well all the time, but in the past five, six months I've stopped and only straightend my hair about two times. I want to leave my hair curly, but I always get caught in the trap where I don't think I look good with curly hair, and it only looks good straight, blah, blah, blah. Resulting in me straighting all the time again, which I DON'T want to happen. So any good curly hair styles? Besides just putting half back, and leaving half in, or a little back, and most hair down. And puffs. I've tried puffs, I'm not very good at them, and they don't seem to come out very good unless I straighten my bangs, which are basically straight anyways considering there about five inches long. Hair styles for curly hair? ( With Picture )?

I have really curly and frizzy hair... I usually wash it every day and after I wash it I put moose in it and sometimes a bit of hair spray. I like it when it's straight but my mom hates it when I straighten my hair. What styles can I do with my hair? Preferable without using hair dryers since my hair gets really frizzy when I use it ( Unless there is a way so it won't go really frizzy ), or without curling irons and all that.

You should do little to medium twists at the top.

For frizzy hair, I like Pantene's ';curls'; gel, it's not goopy and hard like most gels, it's like a serum. And it's only like 3 dollars.



The poster above me is right. Washing hair too much can make it more frizzy. Try to wash it with conditioner.

As for straightening; momma knows best!! I have curly hair too, and flat ironed it, not even like, every day. My bangs were permanently straight from the flat iron, but not in a good way. wet your hair..towel dry lightly..if you towel dry your hair forcefully, itll break your hair..

put some leave in conditioner in it..

put some light mousse in it..

I have long curly blonde hair and I love it. My curls are pretty nice, the only problem is that it looks good, but not with my face. When I straighten my hair my face looks so much nicer.. I like your cut now, but you can try long layers, side bangs (which you obviously have), an angle and giving it a razor cut.



make sure to say long layers though, otherwise it may end up looking like a bob.



It's easy to keep up. looks nice curly and straight.

Also, if you have the cut a tiny piece of hair on the other side of your face half way to you chin, you can straighten that, and your side bangs and it will add a uniqueness to a ponytail.





When it's curly, i either just let it be, or add sunsilk captivating curls by helene curtis, makes the curls more neat, do about two presses on the top.



And also if it's straight, it looks completely different blown out and straightened with an iron.





Mine is up to my shoulders, and your hair seems long that you would be able to donate it. if you don't make the ten inches for locks of love, you can donate it to pantene beautiful lengths who only needs 8 inches.



Or like the others said, ask your beautician.

Well honey I have curly hair too. I use mousse to keep it under control and frizz free. I usually use Suave or Tresemme. First right after i take a shower I dry my hair up a little and then apply the mousse. After that i scrunch it a little to create more dimmension to my hair. Then I let it dry. My hair is probably a little longer than yours so it probably takes longer to dry. After its dry I seperate a piece of my hair and get it out of the way. Then i pony tail the rest of my hair. Then when thats done i take a bobby pin and then that piece of hair i set aside i pull it back but let it poof up a little then just pin it. and thats really easy its very helpful for me in the summer becuase it keeps my hair off my neck. i think it would look great on you. your a cute gurl you should give it a try

Ok. We have the same hair and the same problem! Well as of yesterday I decided to do something new to it. Here it is:

All you do it take a section of you hair in the front and put it to one side. then you straighten it and put the rest of your hair in a high pony. take the straightened piece and tuck it behind your ear and then gently pull the front part so it make that loop thing. put a cute clip at the ear and done!
I also have curly hair and i'm kind of in the same situation but this is what i do:

1. part it zig zagged or to the side instead of in the middle

2. wear cute head bands!

3. wear it half up half down 0r bobbi pinn you bangs pack and leave two pieces own

3. put it up in a bun :: pull your hair into a ponytail then bend over and find the center then put a hair elastic around about two inches of hair all the way around the bun

4. braid it in two braids so cute!

5. do a low ponytail off to one side and add a cute accessory like a barrette or a flower on that same side

what I like to do is to part my hair on the left side, kinda far over. about 4 inches higher than my ear, and then brush it over the top of my head, kinda like a comb-over lol. and I take the hair at my neck and pull over to the right side. gather my hair together and put an elastic on it. basically just a side ponytail, it keeps your hair out of your face and looks good too! I have curly hair too! If you want your hair to stay in place with natural curls use mousse, gel, or hairspray.


Some easy cute styles in 5min. are:





-Just laying hair naturally down every once in a while


-Putting your hair in cute pigtails


-A side ponytail


-Half up half down (Which is where you pretty much put your hair up in a ponytail on top and then put the rest of the hair down)


-Putting your hair in braids either way if its in pigtails or a ponytail


-Using a hair band and if you want the kind of hair band to put some of your hair back, then get the rubber elastic kind. Its really flexible and great for sports but looks cute too


-With curls, it's always great to put your hair in a messy bun if you just don't know what to do with your that day


-Also a high ponytail is always cute too


-Putting a clip in your hair on the side to push your hair back is great too. You don't have to have bangs either

Definitely do not tie it into a tight pony tail!





Mine's layered, which they say shoudn't be done, but it all depends on the shape of your face and how tight the curl is. Mine does the pyramind head thing when it's all one length. Having shorter layers on top means that it tangles less; there's more definition to the curl.





I like to pin back some of the curls on top with small cute pins and leave a few face framing pieces. This also helps disguise lack of volume on top.





Or pull it into a loose, but high, pony tail, and leave a curl loose at the bottom to rest on your shoulder.





Do not use thin plastic hairbands. With curls, a headband has to be thicker/sturdier so that it holds and doesn't get lost. Wider ribbons or thin scarves are good as accessories to your outfit.





A lot depends on the length also. I had it really short for a while, since the weight pulls the curl out when it gets longer, and with it short, I didn't do much beyond making sure the curls were defined. You don't want them too fakey/perfect, but you have to reduce frizz.

hmmm....I feel your pain. I too have curly hair, and it's a blessing and a curse at the same time. I like to pull the top of my hair up, but not all of it, just like the bang part. When I leave it hanging down its always in my face, and when you put it behind your ears, it gets this weird shape and loses the curl. I also like to just pull it up with a clip or something and bobby pin any thing that falls. The messier the better...which is one good thing about curly hair, it actually looks better when it looks like you just threw it up. take just a bit of your hair and pull it back so that part of your hair is up and part is down. Take the hair you've brought back and put it in a bun. Then take a cute pair of chopsticks and stick them in. It looks super cute %26lt;3
Try braiding some of it and the other part of your hair slick it back like Alicia Keys. Another thing you can do is put it in 2 french braids that always looks good on curly hair.

I had naturaly curly hair my entire life, till this past year when I got the Japanese Straightner. I loved it for a little while, but then I started to miss my curly hair. Be unique, don't straighten it!! I've experimented a lot with my hair. The best style I've gotten is, as soon as you get out of the shower, towel dry your hair, then put in moose/gel, then wrap your hair back into a thermal towel till its completely dry. It gives my hair great body, but remember, everyones hair is different. Hope it works for you!!

Scrunch and dry it upside down. Try to get a diffuser if you don't already have one, it's a type of hair dryer for people with curly hair.

Important, make sure you squeeze your hair with the towel not rub it because curly hair is very prone to frizziness!!!

Some great styles for summer are using a big round brush when you blow dry to get the ends curled under and then pull it half way up the back of your head use a pretty clip or a long pick the ends of the hair hand down and looks kinda wild then take a curling iron a 1inch and take some little hair strands and curl them to frame your face this look is so curt but yet very sexy. in stead of dyeing your hair because you have layers I would have my hair highlights and low lights this looks great on layered hair because no matter how you pull it up or wear it down it will always look different.
Side bangs: straighten it and leave it like that.

I usually just go over my hair with a straightener but dont do it fully because it doesnt go completely straight. Grrr.


And it turns out nicely a nice wavy under control curl.

i always thought the theme with scene makeup and hair was clean lines, so i dont think curly hair will work if you want to go by the book. and flat ironing is easy. just go get a straightener from the drugstore, most work pretty well.

if it's REALLY curly like ringlets then you could do braids or use a headband or clip some of it back on top of your head.

If you shower quickly in the morning (or even just wet your hair), you can go with a nice natural (but moussed and therefore contained) style. That's what I do.
put it back in a half ponytail, that always looks cute. start with the hair right behing your hair and pull back the rest from their if that makes sense.
my mom usually ties it in a bun, a pony tail, or the occasional french braid. if you tie it tight enough, then your hair doenst go POOF! lol.. i should know, i had curly hair, but it became naturally wavy...

I have very curly hair. One tip, DO NOT get it cut short if your hair stylist doesn't know what they're doing. I did once and, since it takes curly hair longer to grow, my head seriously looked like a football for months. Personally, i like bangs, straight or curly.

my hair is the same EXACT thing! Its sooo curly and gets really puffy sometimes or frizzy.



my hair stylist gave me bangs, and said that i have to iron the bangs every day. its relle easy! you should try that.



Anyway, this is the BEST way to show of the curly hair. Take a shower in the morning and put MUSSE it it and scrunch it up with your fingers to make the curls bouncy. if you cant take a shower in the morning, you could do that without the shower-just put more.



Another idea, just wear your hair down with musse in it and a headband.

Hmmm.... I have thick, blond, curly hair and I normaly just wear it down with some gel-ish product, but there's nothing else to do with it!!!!! I really want a different hairstyle.I need more hair styles for curly hair?
if you want more defined curls that you can control:

buy those soft curlers and sleep in them. it is soooo easy and you save so much time in the morning. you just take them out and only brush the top of your hair otherwise you brush right through the curls. then use hairspray, not mousse. ive found that a great brand of hairspray is matrix hairspray. and for looser, messier curls, you separate each curl in two. it is a more casual, less shirley temple look.

then for waves, sleep in braids. (the number depending on how wavy you want your hair. i would probably recommend about eight or so) then you just take them out in the morning and just brush the top of your hair. you can use hairspray, but i usually dont need it, but then again, my hair holds waves really well......

and if you shower in the morning, scrunch your hair with mousse and it looks pretty good but might get a little frizzy.



and as for just regular hairstyles, i would try sidebangs or whispy bangs instead of thick ones......dont know about the cut i might have to see the shape of your face, sry....

you can also do buns, because they are pretty in, or low pigtails, but you might be a little old for them, but my sister in college looks cute in them so i dont know.....

as for hairbands, very cute and in!!! definitely!!!

u could wear your hair half-up, leaving your bangs down.....

omg. I have curly hair to. its frickin annoying so I feel your pain. usually I take my showers in the morning and the twist my hair in little twirls. i have long hair that is brown and curly. i dont know what to do with it, i like side bangs but they just dont work with my hair... any ideas?

When i wear my hair curly, i like to put it in a half pony tail with my side bangs down.... i also like to part it on the side and just wear it down sometimes. idk curly hair is hard to work with.
i have curly hair too. i like to do it just down or in low curly pigtails i also do sideponys. those turn out good with curly hair also high buns and curly ponys. i know curly hair is hard to do. i have always wanted sidebangs too but it just doesnt work with curly hair. hope i helped good luck!

Try braiding it in pigtails at night...then in the morning when u take it out, it comes out with pretty waves. Also u could scrunch it and part it off center. Then put a headband 1 inch back. Its soooo cute!

you can use bed head products and for shampo i use the catwalk curlys rock which i personally use and love. i too have curly hair and using these products really helps my hair to be defined.


also if you want to straighten your hair i use tresemme heat product line which helps protect your hair from heat damage


and for if you wanted to braid your hair think about using a leave in conditioner so your hair wont break as easily

layering is nice but word of caution ....do not i repeat do not let the hair stylist use a razor to cut your hair .....demand to him or her that they use a scissor because it gives curly hair a more precise clean cut look rather than piecey.....sorry but it only work well with straight hair.....hope i helped ...eek lol

you could always use a headband or a bow in it. or yo can pull back the front into a bubble like alot of people do or a low, shoulder side pony tail.. also i like curly hair with bangs for some reason(usually straight).

tried to give you alot of options and hope it helps some. =D good luck.
My best friend has curly hair and she has some really good ways of doing her hair in a hurry! If it's shorter, you should wear your curls at just below ear length (a bit longer when straight though - it should be around shoulder length or a bit higher) then get your fringe ( side ones work best) and bobby pin it to the side ( kind of off center) to your head, but still on top of it.



Another one is to get lots of thin hair coloured ties or pretty coloured ribbons and tie lots of small ponytails at different heights all facing toward the side, it kind of looks like Belle at the start of Beauty and The Beast. I have found that Trash Ties (http://www.trashties.com/) work really well for this but only the 4 inch ones, and it is perfect because they come in packs of 5. This is a relitivly easy style but is worth practicing the night before just in case.



These styles dont work for really really tight ringlet curls.
