Are there any products that speed up hair growth in horses (pony rubbed mane and tail due to sweetitch)?

I've been given an exmoor pony, whos previous owner didn't take care of him. He's rubbed the top half of his dock completely bald, and the majority of his neck and mane has gone. Sweetitch is under control now, but I'd like something to help hair growth, particularly on the tail.Are there any products that speed up hair growth in horses (pony rubbed mane and tail due to sweetitch)?
Yup! M-T-G is my favorite product for speeding hair growth. Just put it on once a week and let it do its job!





MTG increases the risk for sunburn because it's oil based, so put it on in the evening after the sun has started to set.





It does not cause chemical burns like some people think, just sunburns and only if you aren't careful to keep them out of direct sun for 12 hours after putting it on.

ADD- MTG is pretty cheap for how long it lasts. I think a whole bottle lasts around a month for one horse.

one thing i use, not particularly growth, but i think it would help, its called cowboy magic, helps grow a bit, gets the tangles out, dont even have to brush, just run your fingers through the mane and tail, makes shiny, and very soft, will keep mane and tail in shape. my advice would be to get some actual growth formula, put it in, then out cowboy magic over the formula.

MTG is probably one of the most amazing things ever. I have an Appaloosa mare, and the breed is naturally almost bald. I used this on her mane and tail and i saw results in 2 weeks!!! It was amazing. It is like 16 bucks a bottle, but you dont use all that much. It lasts a while. Just don't overdo i, it could end badly. Hope this helps!
all i know is MTG really really works!!! you can tell a difference in seriously 3 days... it's about 13-15$ a bottle but it's so worth it and it lasts a while!!!
I am posting some information on MTG which I related in an answer to another question on this, and which you should read before deciding on whether or not to use it.


There is no evidence that any of the ingredients in MTG do anything to stimulate growth of hair, although there are FDA approved products which do actually do that, such as Rogaine (minoxidil). The best way to stimulate the follicles is with massage to increase the blood flow to the follicles. Plain vaseline will provide the same benefits to the tissue as MTG without the risk of sensitivity reactions and UV ray burns. I've used vaseline and massage to soften the tissue and promote circulation to allow hair regrowth on thick scars for decades.
